Prevention – vaccinations and check-ups

Many diseases begin insidiously and do not cause any symptoms at the beginning. Some serious illnesses are therefore only detected late. This development can be counteracted with early detection examinations and preventive measures. That is why we at your general practitioner Sendling offer numerous general medical check-ups and vaccinations.

Are your vaccinations against tetanus, polio, whooping cough and measles, mumps and rubella up to date? What about your vaccination against tick-borne TBE viruses? Come to our practice with your vaccination card to check your vaccination status. When it comes to vaccinations, we follow the recommendations of the Standing Vaccination Committee (STIKO).
We offer you the Check-Up 35 health check, which is covered by health insurance companies every three years from the age of 35. The patient is examined from head to toe in order to detect diseases such as cardiovascular diseases, kidney diseases, metabolic disorders and diabetes or their risk factors at an early stage. If a disease is suspected, further examinations or a referral to a specialist will be carried out. Don’t wait until you are in pain to see a doctor, but take advantage of the health check!
Between the ages of 18 and 35, you can take advantage of a one-off check-up. Contact us, we will be happy to advise you.
Skin cancer screening is central to the prevention of skin diseases and skin cancer. If skin cancer is detected in time, there is a good chance of recovery. That is why we carry out appropriate check-ups and offer you skin cancer screening – also as part of Check-up 35. Skin cancer screening is covered by health insurance companies every two years.

Travel medicine – return relaxed and healthy

Every travel destination requires different precautionary measures. Before a trip, we at your general practitioner Sendling are happy to carry out a comprehensive check and advise you on possible travel risks. Ideally, your current vaccination status should be checked six months before the start of the trip. But we also optimize your protection for trips planned at short notice. We would be happy to advise you on the vaccinations required and recommended for your travel destination. We always take your individual state of health and the type of trip you are planning into account.

Please note that two vaccinations are required at an interval of three months for a complete dengue vaccination!

In some countries or states, certain vaccinations are mandatory. For example, many states in South America or Africa require yellow fever vaccination upon entry. We would be happy to advise you on which countries have mandatory vaccinations and carry out the vaccination as a certified yellow fever vaccination center.

Health insurance companies are not obliged to cover travel vaccinations, but many still cover preventive vaccinations. This can be clarified individually with the health insurance company.

Anyone who travels wants to come back healthy – we would be happy to advise you individually on your trip and carry out all vaccinations recommended in Germany.

General medical care – trustworthy and personal

Whether acute illness or chronic complaints – as a general practice, we offer all-round care for the whole family. We often look after our patients for many years and therefore know their medical history as well as their social and family environment. Thanks to personal care, we can better classify symptoms and illnesses, which enables us to provide targeted treatment tailored to your needs.

We also care for patients as part of the Disease Management Programs (DMP) for asthma, COPD, diabetes and coronary heart disease/CHD.
We also carry out the geriatric basic assessment, which assesses the abilities of older patients to manage life in their environment.

As a general practice, we are the first point of contact for you as a patient and organize all treatment steps. If necessary, we will refer you to specialist consultants, keep an overview of the overall situation and coordinate the treatment from start to finish.

Are you unable to visit our practice due to illness? Don’t worry, if your condition does not allow you to come to our practice, we will of course also make house calls.
If you need a house call, please notify us by telephone in good time. In the case of acute illnesses, we try to carry out house calls on the same day – we also ask you to register by telephone, preferably in the early morning.
We regularly care for patients in nursing homes. We would also be happy to treat you in your home environment. Simply contact us and make an appointment.

With time, personal commitment and a wide range of services, we at your general practitioner Sendling take care of your health competently and with confidence.

hausarzt-sendling-dr-haupt- diagnostik

Diagnostics – the basis of any good treatment

The basis of good general medical care is comprehensive diagnostics. The following examinations are possible in our practice, among others:

The ECG (electrocardiography) allows numerous conclusions to be drawn about the patient’s heart function. In addition to the resting ECG, we also perform the stress ECG.
We take examinations of blood, urine or stool in the laboratory. These are used for the correct interpretation of complaints, the early detection of diseases and the monitoring of the course of therapies.
The aim of long-term blood pressure measurement (24 hours) is to record blood pressure values during a normal daily routine. This allows us to identify the cause of difficult-to-treat high blood pressure.

During a lung function test, the lung function is measured. In a simple lung function test, the patient breathes into a device called a spirometer through a mouthpiece. The spirometer measures, among other things, the force and amount of exhaled air. These tests are mainly used in the diagnosis of lung diseases such as asthma and COPD.

With the help of sonography (ultrasound), we can, for example, detect disorders or diseases of the organs in the abdominal cavity (abdomen). The thyroid gland and vessels can also be examined in this way (private service).

Optional services – individual health services for self-payers

As a general practice, we are happy that diseases in Germany are treated at a high level and that the costs incurred are generally covered by the statutory health insurance companies. However, especially in the area of prevention, further examinations are useful depending on individual needs and risks. That is why we at your general practitioner Sendling offer additional individual health services (IGeL):

    • Ultrasound examination of the thyroid gland and vessels on request
    • Extended examination as part of laboratory diagnostics (blood, urine, stool)
    • sports medical examinations
    • Diving fitness (according to the guidelines of GTÜM)
    • Examination for boat and sailboat license
    • Examination for the issue or extension of a driver’s license
    • Advice on the preparation of a living will

Networked medical care – Munich Doctors’ Practice Network West

We are a member of one of the largest networks of doctors in Bavaria – the Munich Doctors’ Practice Network West. This is an association of many established and employed doctors of all specialities. In this way, cross-cutting therapies can be closely coordinated among the practitioners and examinations do not have to be carried out twice unnecessarily. Another advantage is the faster appointment allocation with specialists in the network and smoother communication about results between us as a general practice and the specialist consultants.

In addition, some health insurance companies support this special form of patient care. For example, the Munich West Practice Network has quality-oriented contracts for the care of patients of AOK Bayern and BARMER.

hausarzt-sendling-dr-haupt- palliativ

Palliative medicine – support in the last phase of life

Palliative medicine aims to alleviate the consequences of a disease (palliation) when there is no longer any prospect of a cure. It focuses on the best possible medical, nursing, psychosocial and spiritual treatment and support. The common goal is to provide extensive relief from symptoms and improve the quality of life – in whatever environment those affected desire.
We work professionally with various palliative care service providers. This enables us to initiate comprehensive care and support for every situation. The aim is to maintain and improve the quality of life and self-determination of the seriously ill, as well as to support relatives or trusted persons.
